Hong Kong Trail Stages 7 & 8

I wish my iphoto wasn't being cranky and holding my other pictures from the weekend hostage.  Then I could add some interesting, non-training related pictures and posts!  Sorry, you'll have to suffer through more happy trails.

Last month, me, Creepster and Joebro scouted HK Trail stages 5 & 6 for the Green Power race.  So this time me and Joebro returned to complete stages 7 & 8.

Breaking News: Jenny and Jakey

For the record, I broke this story by email before my hero at DListed.  That's really all I care about!  Jenny Lewis was spotted at the Golden Globes with Jake Gyllenhaal.  If you don't know Jenny, she heads the band Rilo Kiley (the headliner at my very first Sunset Junction), also Jenny and Johnny, but now it's looking more like Jenny and Jakey.  You may be most familiar with her work in Troop Beverly Hills.  Thanks for dumping Taylor Swift Jakey.  I still believe you are a MAN!

Black's Link Trail Run

There was no wimp trail run schedule for this week, and it made me a little sad. But lo and behold one was scheduled at the last minute, and I scurried out of the office to make it to the run. This was the same route we did last week, and while still being a challenge, I'm getting more comfortable running on the trails. Inclines however are still a battle. And we saw a porcupine. Awesome!

Weekending in Guangzhou

Finally, something not boring Tarahumara training related!  2011 is full of weddings, including the union of J & T.  A few of us headed up to Guangzhou, China for the weekend to procure some wedding wear.

The game plan for New Year's day was the 10th annual 10k race around Cheung Chau island.  As you might have guessed, after all that delicious champagne (and a little bourbon too. I'm weak.) it was def not gonna happen.
