Labor Day Housewarming Party
The Evite Read:
Us WILDCATS are going NON-STOP!
If you need a reason to celebrate:
1. It's a long weekend.
2. Gill is officially an Angelino.
3. Your picture may end up on Friendship Night.
4. You've worked too hard this week, and you deserve it!
Labor Day, the first Monday in September, is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.
Just be there, dammit.
Marie and Robin. I hope Robin will be joining us on the east side too!
I have to say, some topics of conversation were quite unprecedented... and I can only imagine what Vegas holds for us!
Thanks guys, for helping us put together the grill :)
The couches arrive Saturday, Saturday!
We Can Do It!
Putting furniture together feels like quite an accomplishment.

However, when something goes wrong, you just have to shake your head...

I think we killed it.

Grandma Jesse
Friendship Night bids godspeed to Grandma Jesse.

She wasn't my grandmother, but I called her that. She babysat me when I was in kindergarten. I remember I used to get mad at her because she would watch her soap operas, and I couldn't watch Today's Special on Nickelodeon. I remember that she said dad drove too fast. And I remember that I got in trouble for putting WD-40 on her tires.

Big Wangs
On Friday, the Universe wanted me to go to Big Wangs.
First, UA alum were gathering there for our first game of the season. I put this event on the backburner for something else. But when that fell through, the path guided me back there for a birthday party.
If you want to know how the evening went, this pretty much sums it up:

Oh the fear. Oh the terror!
I'm not sure exactly what happened. All I know is a slew of drinks arrived in our direction, and the bartender (not Wayne!) really liked Lettie.

And the evening started out with such promise. At least we kept it interesting!
Here's Lettie and Julie, before the crazies arrived.
And the consensus is that we'd all go back. I think it has something to do with that mid-west feel, smack dab in the heart of Hollywood.

I Was Eating Cheddar Chex Mix and Thought of You
Another excerpt from an email to Mere:
So, the weight of the devastation in New Orleans, on top of the previous Tsunami disaster and more is really taking a toll on me. It's not helping that I work in a completely uninspired environment, perpetuating crap on tv. I'm thinking about taking the rest of the year off when my job ends to volunteer, focus on my writing and other ventures.
Tomorrow is Keanu's bday. Amen.

Lettie, on Jag
This is how I get invited to a birthday party, taken from an instant message:
Nothing much, just someone I know out here it is their birthday and people are gathering at a bar in Hollywood and I don't really want to go by myself,
I figure you like to drink.

Simply Quilts wrap party @ Burbank Bar and Grill, Jan '05.
This is me, with our "Little L," and our other pal Anthony. Leticia, as I so fondly refer to her as, and I have been buds since Simply Quilts at the end of last year.
Yikes. I'm glad I've lost weight.

Sunset Junction '05
Sunset Junction Rules! It was the best weekend ever. So good, in fact, that we were less bothered by the heat.

Sunset Junction
And if you live at the Sunset Junction, it’s only natural to pre-party.

Jag and Marie

Anthony and Jag. We are too couture.

Lettie, straight from the East Coast to the East Side.

And then it was finally cool enough for us to hit the street.

Richard and Jeff

We were too cool for the ride.

We were waiting too long for Rilo Kiley to hit the stage. But she was good!
We started a self-portrait series.

I also double as the runaway bride.

We’re so beautiful. This marks the end of the Self-Portrait Series.

This bear loves to party. This bear loves to drink. This bear loves to party in Franklin Hills. This bear was hypnotized, and ended up in someone’s cleavage. (No, not Marie’s)

A sea of people. You know what they say about women and trolley cars. There’s plenty of them in the sea.

As we were rockin out to Elton John’s Rocket Man, we knew we were still not the weirdest in the crowd, by far.

Pepsi and Kettle Corn make Lettie a happy girl. Next time we’ll have to allow ourselves more time to try the food.
Jeffrey’s pictures

Brothaz

Corbin and Ollie

This is how I am most commonly recognized.

Watch, as Friendship Night takes over Sunset Blvd.

Ride time!

Fancy meeting you here.

And we went home happy campers :)
